Man shot in hip in northwest Columbia

Monday, August 16, 2010 | 1:51 p.m. CDT

COLUMBIA — A 25-year-old man was shot in the hip around 12:15 a.m. Sunday, according to a news release from the Columbia Police Department.

He was transported to University Hospital for a non-life threatening wound and taken into surgery, according to the release.

The shooting occurred in northwest Columbia. Police said they think the man was specifically targeted, not shot randomly.

Police are looking for two men in their early 20s. One suspect was wearing a red shirt.

The Major Crimes Unit is still investigating, and you can call in any tips at 875-8477.
