Man arrested in relation to Sunday evening shooting

COLUMBIA — Police have arrested a 17-year-old in connection with a shooting Sunday evening in the area of Worley Street and McBaine Avenue.
Warren A. Washington was arrested after a short chase.
Police were dispatched after they received multiple phone calls from citizens who observed a car speeding from the area. Police intercepted the car en route and the suspect jumped from the moving vehicle.
The car continued and almost struck a house on Dean Street. Police said Woods was taken into custody after a short chase on foot. Woods has been charged with suspicion of driving without a license and suspicion of misdemeanor resisting arrest.
No injuries were reported from the incident and police continue to investigate the cause behind the shooting.
Police also received a phone call from a resident who had bullet holes and shattered windows in the front of his home from the Sunday evening shooting.
