5 years later, Amanda Jones' family wants answers

HILLSBORO — It has been more than five years since Amanda Jones vanished without a trace, and her frustrated family still seeks answers.

Jones, of Hillsboro in Jefferson County, disappeared on Aug. 14, 2005. She was nine months pregnant at the time and was last seen on her way to meet the man she believed was the father of her unborn baby.

Jefferson County authorities tell KTVI-TV that they, too, want resolution in the case. Some 400 leads have been investigated, but the case has gone cold. Authorities say there is no evidence to convict anyone.

A $100,000 reward continues to be offered for information that would solve the crime.
