Hickman softball team rallies to win opener

COLUMBIA — The Hickman girls softball team came from behind to win its season opener Tuesday evening 6-5 over visiting Boonville.

The Kewpies had trailed 2-0 after the first inning and 5-2 after the third.

Andrea Drake went 2-for 3 with an RBI and two runs scored. Nell Chronister was 1-for-3 with a double and two RBIs, while Sydney Washington and Karley Mirts were both 2-for-4.

Allison Tonyan was the winning pitcher, striking out seven, walking nine and letting up four hits in seven innings.
