Stafford Hall demolition to begin Thursday

COLUMBIA — Spirtas Wrecking Co. is scheduled to begin demolition on MU's Stafford Hall between 9:30 and 10 a.m. Thursday, said Jeffrey Hoelscher, University of Missouri Health Care spokesman.

Because of the confined area in which the residence hall sits, the middle section of each building will be removed first, Hoelscher said. Then, each end of the building will be pulled toward where the middle section was to complete the demolition.

Stafford is scheduled to be leveled in September, which is when work on Cramer is set to begin, Hoelscher said.
