Alden to lead NCAA Leadership Council

COLUMBIA — Missouri Athletics Director Mike Alden will chair the NCAA Leadership Council for the 2010-2011 academic year, according to a release.

The council identifies important issues regarding the future of the NCAA and includes representatives from 31 Division I conferences, according to the release. It also provides oversight to NCAA committees and all NCAA cabinets, the release said.

Alden is in his 13th year as athletics director at Missouri and is also the president of the Division 1A Athletics Directors' Association.
