Signal lights to be removed at Rock Quarry and Nifong

Thursday, September 9, 2010 | 2:29 p.m. CDT

COLUMBIA — Because of changing traffic patterns, the traffic signals at the intersection of Rock Quarry Road and Nifong Boulevard will be replaced with all-way stop signs, according to a news release from the Public Works Department.

To help motorists adjust to this new stop control, the current signal lights will flash red for one week.

The stop signs will be installed this week, according to the release. Motorists and pedestrians should exercise caution at this intersection until the switch is complete, officials say.
