Missouri Finger Lakes State Park holds informational meeting

Thursday, September 9, 2010 | 6:00 p.m. CDT

COLUMBIA — If you enjoy recreational activities at Finger Lakes State Park, you will have the opportunity to discuss issues with park representatives Friday evening.

The Missouri Department of Natural Resources will hold an informational meeting from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Friday at the Finger Lakes State Park office. Representatives from the park will be on hand to answer questions about the status of the park.

Debbie Newby, a park employee, said that one of the projects up for discussion is a recreational trails grant that will fund the construction of off-road ATV trails at the park.

“This is a chance for the public to come out and ask us questions and for us to talk about upcoming projects,” Newby said.

The park is located north of Columbia just east of Old 63.
