Columbia police respond to hit-and-run at West Worley Street and Park de Ville Drive

COLUMBIA – An 11-year-old boy was struck while riding a bicycle through a crosswalk on Thursday afternoon, and police were searching for a vehicle that left the scene at West Worley Street and Park de Ville Drive. 

Columbia police, in a news release, said officers were looking for a charcoal-colored Nissan Altima driven by a white male between 50 and 60 years old.

The child was taken to University Hospital where he was treated for injuries to his *left leg, including breaks in two places, and released, according to the boy's mother. The hit-and-run occurred around 3:17 p.m.* Thursday; an officer arrived around 3:21 p.m.*

It was not 5:17pm. It was shortly after 3:00pm. The officer response was very fast. I believe we were at the hospital by 3:30
