Missouri Guard leader to speak at Jefferson City 9/11 ceremony

JEFFERSON CITY — Missouri officials have planned a ceremony at the state Capitol in memory of the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks.

The Missouri Community Service Commission is sponsoring the ceremony Friday on the Capitol's south lawn along with the Sept. 11 Day of Service Committee.

Brig. Gen. Stephen Danner adjutant general of the Missouri National Guard is scheduled to speak.

The ceremony also is designed to honor emergency responders.

The Missouri Community Service Commission is part of the state Department of Economic Development.
