COLUMBIA — A vigil commemorating the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks will be at 7 p.m. Saturday in the A.P. Green Chapel, just east of the Memorial Union at MU.

"No More Victims" will honor those killed during the attacks and people who have died in war since.

The event organizers hope to encourage community members to unite in a peaceful vision of reconciliation.

"At a time when we are seeing a new wave of intolerance and Islamophobia, it is critical that people of conscience speak out," mid-Missouri Peaceworks Director Mark Haim said in a release.

Speakers at the event will include the Rev. Heather Morgan of Columbia Hope Church and Larry Brown of MU's department of geography, with music provided by Caravan.

The event will conclude with the outdoor candlelight vigil, set to begin at about 8 p.m.
