HALLSVILLE — Finger Lakes State Park held an informational meeting Friday night to discuss plans for improved parking.

Specifically, the plans would address parking at the state park's motocross track.

The current plan consists of two phases. In phase one, the parking lot will be improved to hold an estimated 76 vehicles with trailers. Phase two could add an additional 20 parking spots, including spaces for overnight parking.

Funding has already been appropriated for phase one. Funding for phase two has not yet been approved.

There are usually three to four motocross events held at Finger Lakes every year. The races typically draw 500-1,000 people, plus 150-200 riders of bikes and ATVs.
