Columbia College wins AMC volleyball opener

COLUMBIA — The Columbia College volleyball team won its American Midwest Conference opener Monday defeating Missouri Baptist 25-16, 25-23, 25-23 at the Arena of Southwell Complex to extend its winning streak to five matches.

Cougars junior Vesna Trivunovic, the AMC Volleyball Player of the Week, led all attackers with 16 kills.

Columbia College (9-1, 1-0) returns to the court for another AMC match against McKendree at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Arena of Southwell Complex.
