JEFFERSON CITY — A Missouri housing agency has selected an attorney as its new executive director.

The Missouri Housing Development Commission said Tuesday that Margaret Lineberry is joining the state agency. She has focused her legal career on housing, real estate development, construction and project finance.

Lineberry replaces Pete Ramsel, who resigned in March after 15 years with the housing commission.

The Kansas City-based agency uses tax credits and tax-free bonds to help finance the construction of affordable houses and apartments. Its board includes the governor, lieutenant governor, attorney general, treasurer and six others appointed by the governor.
