Draft horse, mule sale attracts crowds at Boone County Fairgrounds

A group of men auction off farming equipment at the Boone County Draft Horse and Mule Sale on Wednesday at the Boone County Fairgrounds. Farmers traveled from around Missouri and even other states to bid on and sell used horse equipment and machinery.

COLUMBIA — The Boone County Draft Horse and Mule Sale, which attracts buyers and sellers from around the U.S., began with a horse equipment sale on Wednesday at the Boone County Fairgrounds.

The event continues at 9 a.m. Thursday at the fairgrounds with the draft horse and Haflinger horse sale.

Standardbreds, light teams, ponies and riders will be sold starting at 9 a.m. Friday.

Mules will be sold 9 a.m. Saturday.
