Columbia man arrested on drug and firearms charges

COLUMBIA —A Boone County Sheriff's Department search warrant resulted in approximately 14 pounds of marijuana, according to a news release from the department.

Brent Hills, 31, of Columbia, was arrested at 1:30 a.m. Thursday at 1965 Old Plank Village Drive by the Sheriff’s Department. He was arrested on suspicion of a variety of drug-related charges, according to the news release.

According to the news release, items seized by the Boone County Sheriff’s Department also included:

  • Items associated with the distribution of marijuana.
  • Drug paraphernalia.
  • Stolen firearm.

Hills was arrested on suspicion of possession with the intention to distribute, felon in possession of a firearm, receiving stolen property greater than $500, endangering the welfare of a child and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Hills was being held in the Boone County Jail on a $10,000 bail as of Thursday morning.
