JEFFERSON CITY — Missouri Democrat Robin Carnahan wants a federal judge to rule quickly on a Fox News Network lawsuit alleging copyright infringement by one of her U.S. Senate ads.

Carnahan's campaign said in court documents Monday that the lawsuit is creating uncertainty among broadcasters and consuming the time of her campaign team.

The Carnahan ad shows part of a Fox News interview from January 2006 with Republican Rep. Roy Blunt, her opponent in the Senate race.

Fox News claims the ad infringes on its copyright and misuses the image of journalist Chris Wallace.

The ad has continued to run on TV. It also is up on Carnahan's campaign website after initially being removed. Carnahan has cited the lawsuit in fundraiser letters.
