Bernie Andrews of REDI receives economic development award

COLUMBIA — Bernie Andrews, executive vice president of the Regional Economic Development Inc., received the Director’s Career Service Award from the Missouri Department of Economic Development at a statewide conference in Kansas City.

“Bernie’s commitment to Columbia and this area runs long and deep,” City Manager Bill Watkins said in a press release. “I’m so pleased for him and his family.”

Andrews, who started doing economic development work with the city of Columbia in 1996, is recognized for his length of service, positive effort and contribution in this field.

“Bernie is the consummate professional ... always courteous and generous with his skills and knowledge,” Watkins said. “We have relied on him for many years, and I honor what he continues to achieve.”
