CASSVILLE — Southwest Missouri investigators say a 5-year-old child abducted during a home invasion has been returned.
Broadcaster KSPR said a suspect was taken into custody after bringing the girl home just before midnight Wednesday.
The Barry County Sheriff's Department had issued an endangered-person advisory earlier Wednesday after the child was taken from her mother's home on Missouri 86.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol said in a news release that the suspect and the child's grandfather assaulted the child's mother. Afterward, the suspect left with the child on foot.
No other details were immediately released.
