COLUMBIA — The Missouri football team indefinitely suspended free safety Jasper Simmons, team spokeman Chad Moller announced Monday.

Simmons, who has been out with an injured knee since early September, was listed as probable to questionable before Saturday's game against Miami (Ohio) University but did not play.

Moller said the suspension was for violating team policies and is not because of legal troubles.
