5 students hurt in bus accident

Tuesday, September 28, 2010 | 2:24 p.m. CDT

ST. CHARLES— Five students from Fort Zumwalt East High School in St. Charles County are recovering from injuries suffered in a school bus accident.

The wreck happened Tuesday morning when the bus collided with a pickup truck. The bus was taking students to Lewis and Clark Career Center in St. Charles.

School officials say the injured students complained of head and neck pain. The injuries were considered minor. The students were taken to St. Joseph Health Center in St. Charles for treatment.

An investigation into the cause of the wreck continued.
