Helias downs Rock Bridge football in close game

COLUMBIA -- The Rock Bridge Bruins fell to Helias High School 31-28 Friday night despite senior quarterback Mark Pickerel's three touchdown strikes.

Junior tight end Austin Ray caught two of them and senior wide receiver Sheldon Gerau caught the other.

Junior wide receiver Nate Egharevba also scored on a 78-yard scamper in the first quarter.

Rock Bridge's record now stands at 3-3.
