MU tennis plays in opening round of tournament

Missouri tennis competed in the opening day of the UCF Invitational in Orlando, Fla. on Friday. MU's Jamie Mera and Maria Christensen won their match against Purdue 8-6, but the Boilermakers defeated Kaitlyn Ritchie and Mallory Weber and Rachel Stuhlmann and Annemijn Koenen, both matches ended with a score of 8-5.

The Tigers faced Arkansas in singles where Kaitlyn Ritchie lost to No. 76 Kate Lukomskaya 6-3, 3-6, 6-3. Maria Christensen won her match 6-3, 3-6, 6-4 to remain undefeated and Mahdi Besovic moves to 2-1 on the season with her win 6-0, 6-1.

Missouri will play doubles against UCF and singles against Purdue on Saturday.
