Sander leads Hickman boys runners

Devin Sander won the individual championship for the Hickman boys cross country team Saturday at the Helias Invitational at Binder Park in Jefferson City to lead the Kewpies to a second-place finish at the event.

Sander finished in 16:48 for the Kewpies, who talled 60 points. William Starks was the next best Hickman boys runner  in 12th, followed by Alex Nail (13th), Ethan Zars (14th), Danile Lindaman (20th), Chaston Kome (26th) and Charlie Carson (30th). 

Madison May finished in fifth, and Becca Katz finished in 15th for the Hickman girls team. 

The Hickman cross country teams will compete next at 9 a.m. Oct.16 at the Rolla Dual.
