Mizzou volleyball defeats Texas A&M in five sets

The Missouri volleyball team defeated Texas A&M in its first five-set match of the season, 25-23, 20-25, 25-23, 11-25, 15-9 on Wednesday night in College Station, Texas.

Junior middle hitter Brittney Brimmage and senior outside hitter Paola Ampudia each had 16 kills for Missouri. Freshman setter Molly Kreklow led the Tigers with a career-best 55 assists. Mizzou set season highs in both attacks, with 208, and digs, with 81.

This was the first five-set match for Mizzou since its match with Texas A&M last year, which they also won.

The victory improves the Tigers to 12-7 overall, and 4-5 in Big 12 Conference play. It was the eighth road win of the season for Mizzou. The Tigers will return home to face Baylor at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday.
