1 killed in Missouri State Highway Patrol helicopter crash

Friday, October 15, 2010 | 1:15 p.m. CDT

ST. LOUIS — One person is dead after a Missouri State Highway Patrol helicopter crashed near a residential subdivision in wooded area in suburban St. Louis.

The Federal Aviation Administration said the only person on board the aircraft died in the crash Friday morning.

The helicopter took off from Spirit of St. Louis Airport in Chesterfield at 11 a.m.. The FAA did not name the victim.
