LAKE OZARK — Missouri Democrat Robin Carnahan says she raised almost $2.2 million during the past quarter for her U.S. Senate campaign.

That nearly matches the $2.4 million raised from July through September by her Republican opponent, U.S. Rep. Roy Blunt. But Blunt had more money available in his campaign account at the start of October — $3.7 million to Carnahan's $2.1 million.

Carnahan is Missouri's secretary of state. She released a summary of her finance report Friday. Blunt released a summary of his fundraising Thursday.

Blunt and Carnahan are competing in the Nov. 2 election to succeed retiring Republican Sen. Kit Bond.
