Missouri basketball forward Ratliffe named Big 12 newcomer of the year

COLUMBIA — Missouri basketball Forward Ricardo Ratliffe was named the Preseason Newcomer of the Year by the Big 12 conference.

Ratliffe is the third Tiger to be named as top newcomer. 

Ratliffe was a nationally recruited after a a career at Central Florida Community College in Ocala, Fla. There he was twice named first team all-NJCAA All-America. He also set the scoring record at Central Florida Community College by posting 1,653 in his career. 

Kim English, who has been named a candidate for the John R. Wooden Player of the Year trophy, was given an honorable mention for the preseason All-Big 12 Team.
