COLUMBIA — Sen. Kit Bond is planning to hold a news conference about federal funding for a highway expansion in central Missouri.
Bond was scheduled to discuss the federal money with Columbia officials Monday afternoon. The project is an expansion of Missouri Highway 740 in Columbia, which is part of the East Area development plan.
On Monday night, officials in Columbia planned to present Bond with a resolution honoring his service to Missouri. Bond, a Republican, is not running for re-election this year.
