COLUMBIA — Caitlyn Vann, a senior libero on the Missouri volleyball team, was named Big 12 Defensive Player of the Week on Monday.

It is the second time Vann has received the award this season, and she has earned the honor five times in her career. Vann is the only player in the Big 12 this season to receive the award twice.

Last week, Vann had 6.33 digs per set, to improve her season-high in each of Missouri's two matches.

She had 26 digs against Texas A&M in the Tigers' five-set win, their first in College Station since 2005. Then she had 31 digs in a four-set win against Baylor, including a perfect mark on 18 service receptions and six assists.

Vann is also third in the Big 12 in aces per set after her two service aces against Baylor.

The Tigers’ next match is Saturday against No. 3 Nebraska in Lincoln.
