Former President Clinton raising money for Skelton

Thursday, October 21, 2010 | 12:56 p.m. CDT

JEFFERSON CITY— Missouri Rep. Ike Skelton is getting some fundraising help from former President Bill Clinton in his re-election campaign against Republican Vicky Hartzler.

An invitation indicates that Clinton will be a "special guest" Saturday at a fundraiser for Skelton at the Waldorf Astoria in New York. It notes that Skelton is chairman of the House Armed Services Committee.

Skelton, a Democrat, first was elected to Congress in 1976. He represents the 4th District, which covers west-central Missouri.

On Thursday, Hartzler's campaign publicized Skelton's planned fundraiser with Clinton.
