Columbia College volleyball wins two games in tournament

The Columbia College volleyball team went 2-0 in the first round of the Madonna University Invitational on Friday in Livonia, Mich.

The Cougars defeated Bellevue (Neb.) University 25-20, 25-13, 22-25, 29-31 and 15-12.  During that match, junior outside hitter Vesna Triunovic had 24 kills and 14 digs.

In the late game, Columbia College defeated No. 22 Madonna University 25-21, 15-25, 25-21 and 25-12. Triunovic led the Cougars with 23 kills and 12 digs.

The Cougars are now 26-2 on the season and are ranked No. 6 in the NAIA Top 25 Poll.

Columbia College plays again Saturday at 11:30 a.m. against the University of Michigan-Dearborn and at 1:30 p.m. against Ashford (Iowa) University.
