COLUMBIA — Police arrested a man Friday afternoon following reports of a violent domestic dispute at his house.

David Glispie, 20, shot his 17-year-old sister in the face with a BB gun, according to a Columbia Police Department news release issued Saturday. The shot missed the girl's eye but resulted in swelling, police said.

After his sister locked him out of the house, police say Glispie forced reentry by breaking the door. Shortly thereafter, Glispie threw a box fan at his mother, hitting her ankle, police reported.

Glispie was arrested at his house, 304 Sexton Road, before being taken by police to Boone County Jail. Glispie is charged with second-degree domestic assault and armed criminal action.
