COLUMBIA — Aric Bremer can't wait for the Missouri basketball season to begin.

The 2003 MU graduate is eager to assume his role as the team's new public address announcer. Bremer was named the new announcer Monday.

"To be named the new public address announcer for the MU Tiger basketball team is a dream job for me," Bremer said in a news release. "The season can't start soon enough."

Bremer, who is currently employed by the Zimmer Radio Group, is a native of Sedalia and an 11-year Columbia resident.

Bremer is taking place of Randy Wright, who was public address announcer for the basketball team for the past 22 years. Wright left Missouri in February to become the executive director in the Division of Multi-Media properties at the University of Florida in Gainesville, Fla.

Bremer’s debut will take place Thursday at the annual Black and Gold game at Mizzou Arena.
