COLUMBIA — Paula Pritzen, a senior goalkeeper on the Missouri women's soccer team, was named Big 12 Conference Defensive Player of the Week and teammate Danielle Nottingham, a freshman midfielder, was named Big 12 Co-Newcomer of the Week, the conference announced Tuesday.
Pritzen shut out Baylor 2-0 on Friday in Waco, Texas and made five saves in Missouri's 5-2 win over Texas Tech on Sunday in Lubbock, Texas.
Nottingham scored three goals in the pair of Missouri victories, one coming against the Bears and two against the Red Raiders. Nottingham shared Newcomer of the Week honors with Texas Tech freshman forward Jessica Fuston.
The weekly awards were Missouri's first of the season.
