UPDATE: Freeze warning takes effect at 1 a.m. Friday

COLUMBIA — A freeze warning remains in effect from 1 to 9 a.m. Friday.

An updated forecast issued Thursday afternoon by the National Weather Service calls for a low of 27 degrees Friday morning — two degrees colder than the previous forecast.

Precautions should be taken to protect plants that are sensitive to freezing temperatures.
