COLUMBIA — James Pezold pleaded guilty on Monday to four counts of second-degree assault and one count of first-degree tampering with a motor vehicle for an incident at the Walmart at 3001 W. Broadway in 2009.

Pezold was sentenced to seven years in prison.

In 2009 Pezold and his brother Michael Pezold were arrested for attempting to run over three adults and four children with a car. The incident was racially motivated, according to police. James Pezold knocked down a 2-year-old who only suffered minor injuries.

James Pezold did not deny doing it. In December 2009 he told a judge that he was guilty and that the judicial process was a "waste of time."
