Republican wins top job after campaign focusing on salaries

WHAT HAPPENED: Republican Ed Robb narrowly defeated Democrat J. Scott Christianson in the race for Boone County presiding commissioner. He won with 24,967 votes, or 50.5 percent; Christianson got 24,439 votes, or 49.5 percent. Robb won with a slim margin of 528 votes.
