LETTER: It's time for civil dialogue

Thursday, November 4, 2010 | 11:34 a.m. CDT

I couldn't agree more with Speaker of the House-to-be John Boehner:

"President Obama: The People have spoken: Change course!"

Now that change is in the air, it is time to change the idea we can economically, physically and morally sustain endless wars. During WWII, FDR raised taxes to pay for part of the war effort. In 2001 President Bush '43' started with budget surplus, went to war and cut taxes resulting in huge deficits which continue.

Tuesday night's election results are in and the people have spoken. Now is the time to have a civil dialogue about the costs of endless wars. Thank you Tea Party for waking America up.
