COLUMBIA — A vacant trailer home caught fire Wednesday in southeast Columbia.

Division Chief Gale Blomenkamp said the Boone County Fire Protection District received the call at 4:31 p.m. and arrived at 5350 Old Millers Road within minutes.

Blomenkamp said the fire appeared to have started in the utility room, where it burned through the floor. He said the trailer also sustained smoke and heat damage.

Blomenkamp said five units and 26 responders arrived at the scene.

The fire was contained quickly but the cause is still unknown, Blomenkamp said.
