Rock Bridge soccer team moves on to state semifinals

COLUMBIA — The Rock Bridge boys soccer team defeated Carthage 1-0 on Saturday in a Class 3 state quarterfinal game at Rock Bridge.

Bruins senior captain Danny Baird scored the game's sole goal in the 53rd minute.

The Bruins (24-5) advance to the state semifinals where they will play against Rockhurst (22-5-1) at 5 p.m. Friday at the Anheuser-Busch Center in St. Louis for a chance to play in the championship.
