The Columbia College men's basketball team fell for the first time in 2010, suffering a 72-53 at the hands of No. 11 Texas Wesleyan University. The teams were playing in the first game of the Dr. Pepper Classic, held at Southwest Assemblies of God University in Waxahachie, Texas.

Both teams came in with 3-0 records but the Cougars shot just 34 percent from the field in the loss. Junior Keenan Gaskin led Columbia with 11 points and five rebounds while fellow-junior Darnell Moore chipped in with 10 points.

The Cougars wrap up action in the Dr. Pepper Classic at 7 p.m. on Saturday against host Southwest Assemblies of God University.
