COLUMBIA — A 7-year-old girl who was run over by a float Sunday in the Columbia Jaycees Holiday Parade is listed in good condition today, according to a hospital spokeswoman.

Shianne E. Nesmith of Columbia was run over by a float after her clothing got caught on the trailer when she approached it to collect coins being handed out by participants on the float.

The incident took place on Sixth Street between Broadway and Cherry Street.

University Hospital spokeswoman Barbie Morgan said Nesmith's condition had been upgraded to good.
