Volunteers for "Everyone Eats" at St. Luke United Methodist Church help in the process of handing out "baskets" with food Monday. Event organizers said they ran out of meat about mid-afternoon and had ask for more donations.

Everyone Eats!, a grassroots effort that accepts food donations for distribution to needy families, had a record turnout this year, but the high demand resulted in a scarcity of turkeys and other meat. Donations can be dropped off beginning at noon today at St. Luke United Methodist Church.

"Baskets" of food are ready to be handed out by volunteers at Almeta Crayton's "Everyone Eats" event at St. Luke United Methodist Church on Monday. The event ran out of meat about mid-afternoon and made a plea for more donations.
