Columbia College women's basketball team rallies for upset victory

The Columbia College women’s basketball team upset No. 9 ranked Free-Hardeman 62-54 on Tuesday in Henderson, Tenn. Senior guard Janita Session scored 16 points and had five rebounds to lead the Cougars, No. 23 in the NAIA.

After trailing 15-2 early in the first half, Columbia College (3-3) came back to lead 35-30 at halftime then led throughout the second half.

Denise Rosario scored 14 points and had nine rebounds, while Heather English had 11 points and Ashley Fisher scored 10 points for the Cougars, who outrebounded the Lions (6-2) by a 46-31 margin. 

Columbia College plays next against Loyola (La.) University at 5 p.m. Saturday at the Arena of Southwell Complex.
