COLUMBIA — The preliminary hearing for the suspect in a shooting death on Anita Court in September was postponed on Wednesday for the second time.
A defense lawyer and prosecutor both told Associate Circuit Court Judge Larry Bryson they were still in the discovery phase of obtaining information and witnesses in the case of Eric Jamison, who faces a second-degree murder charge in the death of Crestful Williams of Columbia.
Bryson agreed to the delay; Jamison was being held on $1 million cash bond.
According to a probable cause statement, Jamison shot Williams multiple times on Sept.6 after an argument broke out in an apartment on Anita Court near Stephens Lake Park. At the time, police spokeswoman Jessie Haden said the confrontation was over the woman who lived at the apartment.
