COLUMBIA — John Blattel, Columbia’s internal auditor, has been named the interim director of the city Finance Department, City Manager Bill Watkins announced on Wednesday.
Blattel will replace Lori Fleming, who has taken a position with the U.S. Treasury Department in Honduras. He will take over on Dec. 3.
“I’m excited to have this opportunity to provide additional service to the city,” Blattel said in a news release.
Blattel has served as the internal auditor for two and a half years. His salary will increase from about $68,000 to $95,000, according to the release.
