Police stepping up traffic enforcement near Columbia Mall

Wednesday, November 24, 2010 | 11:42 a.m. CST

COLUMBIA—Columbia police will be paying special attention to traffic near Columbia Mall on Fridays and Saturdays through the holiday shopping season.

Officers will be on patrol beginning Friday at intersections near Stadium Boulevard and Ash Street; Worley Street and Bernadette Drive; and I-70 Drive SW.

Blocking the intersection, driving on the shoulder and other unsafe driving behaviors will be monitored, and police advise drivers to watch the light cycles carefully and never enter an intersection if they can't make it all the way through.

Great. Maybe they will be ticketing those that block the intersections. I will be staying far away from the mall for the next 40 days!

By the way, happy Thanksgiving!
