UPDATE: Mom, two children die in possible murder-suicide

Saturday, November 27, 2010 | 8:57 p.m. CST

LEBANON, Mo. — Police in Lebanon, Mo., are waiting for an autopsy to find out what killed the infant and 5-year-old whose bodies were found in bed with their dead mother on Thanksgiving.

Sharon Trevino, 28, apparently killed them, then shot herself in the temple, police said.

The Springfield News-Leader reported that police are unsure how the children died, since there are no apparent signs of violence.

Police said the bodies of Marissa Morgan, 5; and Izaiah Trevino, 5 months, appeared to be unmarked.

Joshua Trevino, the father of the baby, had lived with the family for a while this fall, but had moved out, police said.

He had come for a visit but left for Colorado two days before Thanksgiving, the Lebanon Police Department told the newspaper.

Sharon Trevino has two other children who were unharmed and did not witness the deaths of their mother and siblings, police said. They are staying with relatives.
