COLUMBIA — Formal charges were filed Sunday against a Moberly man accused of striking a woman with his car, according to a news release from the Moberly Police Department.

Kenneth Kean, 28, was charged with first-degree domestic assault, according to the release. He is accused of hitting Heather Bedford, 21, of Moberly with his 1996 GMC Jimmy after a domestic disturbance Saturday night, according to the release.

Kean is still in custody and has been transferred to the Randolph County jail, according to Kevin Palmatory, commander at the police department.

His bond is set at $100,000 cash only. As of Monday, Bedford remained in critical condition at a Columbia hospital.
